Meet WA Interiors

Meet WA Interiors

There was a brand opportunity hiding in plain sight at Wolstenholme: their audience knew they had interior design capabilities, but they didn’t necessarily know they had world-class designer Brigitte Rogers at the helm of a sister studio already making waves. WA Interiors gave us the chance to change that—and give the studio an identity worthy of the work coming out of it.

The strategy was to create a brand that felt established from day one: rooted in legacy and culture, yet distinctly its own. Instead of jumping straight into Illustrator, we went old school. Ink. Paper. Hands. We explored the relationship between the W and A by drawing and redrawing the forms until they fused into a monogram that felt elegant, architectural and unmistakably WA. Only then did we bring it into the computer to refine and digitize the final mark.

From there, we built out a full identity and stationery suite around a modern neutral palette and Ringside, a premium typeface with just enough editorial swagger to give the brand a polished, New York design-world energy.

The result is a mark with enough presence to stand entirely on its own—distinctive, confident and built to carry WA Interiors wherever the studio goes next. It honors the equity behind the Wolstenholme name without leaning on it, giving Brigitte’s vision a visual identity that feels established, elevated and unmistakably its own. Now officially released into the wild, we have a feeling you’ll be seeing a lot more of it.

Raffas Charcuterie Social

Raffas Charcuterie Social

Some brands shine brightest when they lean fully into their personality, and Raffa’s is the perfect example. They came to us wanting a stronger social presence but without the flexibility of new custom photography. With a tight budget and limited assets, the challenge was clear. Their content needed to feel fresh, playful, and unmistakably theirs, even while relying on stock imagery.

We built a social approach that turned those limitations into an opportunity. Using brand aligned templates, clever storytelling, and a tone that fully embraced their “Italian girl summer” energy, the feed started to take on a life of its own. The content became witty, entertaining, and rooted in what makes Raffa’s so loved. As the posts rolled out, the results were immediate. Engagement climbed, local event turnout tripled, and the brand presence became stronger and more consistent than ever.

With every post, Raffa’s grew more recognizable, more fun, and more confident. The strategy proved that great social is not about having the perfect photos, but about knowing who you are and showing up with intention. Raffa’s now has a feed that feels lively and on point, backed by real numbers that reflect the momentum behind the brand.

Helix Metalforming

Growth happens when a brand steps fully into what it does best, and that is exactly the momentum Helix has been building. They came to us ready to expand their visibility, take on more educational opportunities, and show the industry the depth of expertise behind their name. With a desire to reach new audiences and highlight the range of materials they offer, they were positioned for a powerful shift.

As we partnered with their team, the focus became creating a presence that felt informed, intentional, and ready to lead. Through stronger content, elevated messaging, and a more strategic approach to events and education, Helix began to show up with clarity and consistency. Behind it all, we refined their brand using real data, studying what resonated and adjusting the strategy so their growth stayed agile.

How PE Firms Are Forcing Local Businesses to Up Their Branding Game

How PE Firms Are Forcing Local Businesses to Up Their Branding Game

In today’s market, it’s not just innovation disrupting local businesses, it’s private equity. And they’re not playing small. Across industries, private equity (PE) firms are entering with deep pockets, scalable systems, and polished branding strategies that are rapidly pulling market share away from small, founder-led companies.

Ashley Muir, co-founder of Wldfyr, joined Mark Iorio on Language of Leadership to explain what’s happening and why local business leaders can no longer afford to put branding on the back burner. “PE-backed rollups are showing up with clean brands, consistent messaging, and sales operations that convert,” Ashley tells Mark. “Meanwhile, a lot of local players are still relying on word-of-mouth and a 10-year-old website.”

For a long time, local businesses could depend on their product or service to speak for itself. That worked when competition was limited and customers valued personal connections above all else. But as Ashley explains to Mark, the game has changed. PE-backed competitors are coming in with strategies that are modern, scalable, and highly effective. They can afford things like:

  • Dedicated marketing teams
  • Centralized design and content
  • Targeted digital ads
  • Messaging that’s been A/B tested into high performance

Suddenly, the local legend with no brand guidelines and an outdated logo looks… small.

“The average customer doesn’t know who’s local and who’s not,” Ashley says to Mark. “They just know who shows up on Google with a beautiful website and clear messaging. That’s what builds trust at first glance.”

When a PE firm enters a market, they bring more than just capital, they bring a proven playbook.

  • They know how to build recognizable brands fast.
  • They know how to launch multi-location campaigns.
  • They know how to systematize trust.

And the only way for local businesses to compete is to level up. “You can’t win on passion alone,” Ashley tells Mark. “You have to look like the business you are, or the business you want to be. And that means branding that holds up in any market.” Wldfyr specializes in helping founder-led businesses make the leap from local favorite to market-ready competitor. That doesn’t mean losing identity. It means making it scalable.

Ashley shares three key steps with Mark that local leaders should focus on if they want to compete with PE-backed firms:

  1. Stop thinking of branding as a ‘nice to have.’ It’s now part of your growth infrastructure.
  2. Create a system your team can use. Your brand should work without you in the room.
  3. Invest in consistency. Every channel, every touchpoint should feel elevated and aligned.

And perhaps most importantly, Ashley tells Mark: “Leverage your story, don’t be buried by it. Your local roots are a strength. But they need to be packaged clearly and professionally.” While PE firms have money and data, they don’t always get it right. Often, they hire global brand partners who miss the mark by overlooking local language, culture, and nuance. The result? Brands that feel generic, tacky, or disconnected from the markets they’re trying to serve. This is where local businesses have the edge. They have authenticity, history, and deep community relationships. With the right strategy, these strengths can become a competitive advantage rather than a liability.

As Ashley explains to Mark, “Local businesses already have the trust. With the right branding, they can earn it at scale.” Private equity may have changed the rules of the game, but local businesses still have what it takes to compete. By pairing their authenticity with scalable branding strategies, they can hold their ground, and even grow, in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Wldfyr exists to help businesses make that leap, combining founder stories with scalable systems so they can win in this new branding era.
